Editors Needed
Posted October 28th, 2005 by GregIn our effort to provide users with the most relevant sites, and the best directory possible, the key responsibility lies in the hands of our editors. The editors ensure that the categories contain relevant sites, with good titles, and well composed descriptions. A site is judged by the content that it provides to the user. If our content fails to live up to the expectations of today’s user, we have not done our job, and chances are not good that we will see that user again.
In our efforts to build a quality, comprehensive directory, we place this open call for editors. Successful applicants will have previous directory editor experience - preferably with one of the big boys. Most of the editors that we have working with the project have editing experience at DMOZ, Yahoo, Looksmart, About.com, and Suite101.
Editors with experience are paid .25 per site that they add to the directory. If you have no previous editing experience, but think that you would still be a great fit, please let us know - we are always looking for good people, and would be willing to make special arrangements for special people. If you are interested, let us know here, or if you prefer, email us .

I have a couple of years editing at DMOZ, mostly in Regional and Science. Do you need help in those areas?

,25 ? So instead of doing at DMOZ for free, I could sign up and you’ll pay me to do it? Sounds pretty decent. Can I add my site?

Thanks for your interest Gus. To apply for a position, send an email to editors AT botw.org and include your topics of interest, details on your previous editing experience, and personal contact info and a staff member will get back in touch with you.
Furthermore, to answer Nick’s question of “Can I add my site?” — yes you can, if it is relevant to your assigned category, contains substantive unique content, and is of sufficient quality to meet the BOTW site guidelines, then by all means add it to the directory!

[…] Through the revenues generated via the sponsorship program, we are able to hire additional editors, who in turn contribute thousands of sites monthly. Each month, as the sponsorships and submissions continue to grow, we continue to increase the editor program. Without the growth of these two products, we would only be able to add a fraction of the sites that we do now. […]

My main concern is that you can’t guarantee every page of your website will be included in the SERPs. Considering I’m constantly adding new products to my company’s website, I need to be sure that customers can find them as soon as possible.http://www.seoptimizerz.com
